As experienced paediatric occupational therapists who provide regular training to teachers and teaching support staff on activities to assist the inclusion of children with Additional Support Needs our training courses come with clear PowerPoint lectures and interactive workshops. Activities are used to explain the underlying and sometimes hidden difficulties these children have to cope with on a daily basis. We specialise in offering advice and training to help staff working with children with co-ordination difficulties, sensory processing and/or attention difficulties. We use a simple building block approach in our workshops and leave clear handouts and references for further study. Certificates for Continuing Professional Development are also provided. Our training courses include:

• Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD) and Co-ordination Difficulties. What are the signs and symptoms and what practical ideas can help?
• Underlying Difficulties that affect Handwriting and Fine Motor Skills
• HEADSTART: a co-ordination skills programme for primary age children (this course requires access to a gym)
• Development of Co-ordination and Perceptual Skills in the Pre-School Child
• Life Skills and the Secondary School Child
• How to Help with the Transition Years
• Introduction to sensory processing and how it affects co-ordination/behaviour/concentration
Training courses can be individually tailored to your needs

A guideline price for each training package is £40 per participant per half day, inclusive of handouts and all materials. Inservice training can also be arranged for twilight, half day or full day sessions. Prices start from £200 If you are a head teacher or have responsibility for organising CPD activities, we can organise a meeting with you to discuss your needs and will bring copies of feedback sheets and contact details of schools that have used our service.
